1 January 2015 will mark another step forward towards the harmonisation of the status manual worker – non-manual worker. From that date onwards, it will prohibited to introduce in the existing pension schemes a difference in treatment between manual and non-manual workers or to create a new pension scheme containing a difference in treatment between manual and non-manual workers.
Certain exceptions may occur to this prohibition. Furthermore, the differences in treatment which have been introduced prior to 1 January 2015, under certain conditions will be maintained until 31 December 2024 at the latest.
For more information on this subject, I refer to our Infoflash of 28/04/2014. .
