On Friday 21 January 2022, the social partners in the Group of 10 reached an agreement on the temporary measures that employers in all sectors could take to cope with staff absences due to the virulence of the Omicron variant.

These measures, which the government has yet to ratify, would apply until 28 February 2022.

The purpose of these measures is to facilitate the employment of the temporarily unemployed, people in RCC/SWT, employees on time credit or thematic leave, retired persons, students and asylum seekers.

It should also be noted that a draft law submitted to the Chamber provides for the application of similar measures for employers in healthcare and education until 31 March 2022.

We will keep you updated as soon as we have more details about these measures.
