Permitted income for beneficiaries of survivor's pensions: relaxation

Pensioners may carry on an occupation, but the resulting income may not exceed certain thresholds, otherwise pension benefits will be lost.

These combination rules were deemed too strict by the government for the beneficiary of a survivor's pension who is under the age of 65 and has one or more dependent children. Therefore, they will be relaxed as of 1 January 2023.

Below is an overview of these new thresholds for 2023. The new amounts compared to those listed in our Infoflash of 6 January 2023 are underlined.

(*) The amounts also apply to pensioners of whom the spouse benefits from a household rate pension.
