Joint committee 307 - Convert eco vouchers? Time for action!

As an employer of JC 307 (for brokers and insurance agents), you are required to annually grant eco vouchers to your employees (in the fourth quarter at the very latest).

But maybe you prefer to reward your employees with a different benefit? This is possible within JC 307!

Eco vouchers in JC 307

Full-time employees with a full reference period will be entitled to eco vouchers worth 215 EUR.

However, part-time employees or employees not having worked a full reference period will be entitled to a different amount.

Conversion into another benefit

This joint committee provides for the possibility to convert eco vouchers into an equivalent benefit.

Which benefits?

Various alternatives to the eco vouchers are possible in principle, such as::

  • the introduction or improvement of an existing hospitalization insurance policy;
  • the introduction or improvement of an existing supplementary pension scheme at the company level;
  • the introduction of luncheon vouchers or the increase of their facial value by e.g. 1 EUR per luncheon voucher.

When

The conversion must take place before the end of March.

How?

The procedure varies depending on whether your company has a trade union delegation or not.

  • In companies without a trade union delegation, the conversion will have to be done by means of a written agreement with all the employees.
  • In companies with a trade union delegation, the conversion will have to be done by means of a collective bargaining agreement at company level.

If there is no written agreement or if the conversion did not take place by the end of March, the sectoral provisions for eco vouchers will continue to apply. This implies that you will have to grant eco vouchers to your employees at the end of 2019.
