Brussels Capital Region: Phoenix Bonus extended

The Brussels Government has decided to extend the possibility to enjoy the benefit of the Phoenix bonus.

The Phoenix bonus is a financial aid that you can apply for from Actiris if you hire an unemployed job seeker and meet certain conditions.

The conditions you must meet can be found in our infoflash of 8 January 2021.

This measure, effective as of 1 January 2021, required the hiring of an unemployed job seeker under an employment contract concluded not later than 31 December 2021 and his entrance into service not later than 31 March 2022. These dates have already been postponed to July 2021 (see our infoflash of 9 July 2021). They are now postponed for a second time: 

• The recruitment of the unemployed job seeker must occur not later than 30 September 2022 (previously 31 December 2021 and then 31 March 2022);
• The unemployed job seeker's entry into service must occur not later than 1 October 2022 (previously 31 March 2022 and 1 April 2022);
• The unemployed job seeker must be registered as such with Actiris on 30 June 2022 at the latest (previously 30 June 2021 and 31 December 2021).

The other conditions remain unchanged.
