Within the framework of the FPIE, the Brussels-Capital Region is creating a new support measure for employers who hire a low-skilled job seeker under an employment contract at the end of the FPIE, provided that the job seeker does not receive unemployment benefits nor an integration income.

If you hire a person under an FPIE contract, you are required to hire that person under an employment contract at the end of the FPIE, for a period at least equal to the FPIE period.

If the person is low-skilled and not receiving unemployment benefits or an integration income, you can apply for a premium from Actiris.

What conditions must you meet as an employer?

You open the right to this premium if you belong to the private sector

If you are an employer from the public sector, you have access to this premium if you hire the employee under contractual status. Some public sector employers are excluded from the benefit of this premium.

Who can open the right to the premium?

 The person shall, at the time of entering into the IEPC:

  • Be domiciled in the Brussels-Capital Region;
  • Be registered as an unemployed job seeker with Actiris;
  • No longer be in compulsory education;
  • Not have a degree higher than higher secondary education (unless if he is over 45 years old at the time of the start of FPIE);
  • Be below the legal pension age;
  • Not receive unemployment benefits or an integration income.

The FPIE must have lasted at least 1 month and not longer than 6 months.

What is the amount of the premium?

The amount of the premium is €500/month.

This amount is multiplied by the number of months you have employed the person under FPIE, with a maximum of 6 months, and is adjusted according to the work schedule during the FPIE.

If the FPIE lasted only one month, the amount of the premium will be €500, €400, €300 or €250 depending on the work schedule applied during the FPIE.

What formalities do you have to go through?

You must submit your application for the premium to Actiris within a period of 2 months from the date of the conclusion of the employment contract (following the FPIE).

Your application must be submitted online here.

Entry into force

The measure is effective retroactively to 1 January 2022.
