On 15 June 2017, the social partners of the auxiliary joint committee for non-manual workers (200) concluded their sectoral agreement for 2017-2018.

Below is a short overview of the main topics mentioned in this sectoral agreement. A more in-depth analysis will be included in our sectoral documentation.

Implementation of the wage margin (1.1%)

The social partners have decided to increase the minimum wages and actual wages by 1.1% from 1 October 2017.

Companies have the possibility to grant an equivalent benefit in purchasing power for 2017-2018. In order to do so, a company agreement must be concluded by 30 September 2017 at the latest when there is a trade union delegation in the company. In companies without trade union delegation, the non-manual workers must be informed at the time of the payment of the wages of October 2017.

System of unemployment with company supplement (RCC/SWT - former bridging pension)

For 2017-2018, the sector provides for the application of a RCC/SWT long career (40-year professional career) and a RCC/SWT night work or strenuous occupation (33-year professional career).

Time credit

Time credit schemes are extended until 30 June 2019.

Non-manual workers with at least 5 years’ seniority in the company are entitled to 51 months time credit for the purpose of care.

Non-manual workers are entitled to wind-down time jobs (reduction to 4/5ths time and to half-time) from 55 years for a long career, strenuous occupation and 20 years of night work provided that they have 2 years’ seniority in the company.

Training

The existing collective labour agreement on training is extended until the end of 2018. The employer contribution of 0.23% for the financing of the Social Fund is also extended until 31 December 2018.

Mobility

From 1 January 2018, the amount of the ceiling below which a non-manual worker benefits from the contribution for private transport shall be increased from 26,250 EUR to 27,750 EUR.

Duration of the agreement

From 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2018.

The sectoral agreement shall only become final upon publication on the website of the FPS Employment Labour and Social Dialogue. We will keep you updated.
