As an employer of JC 302 (for the Hotel sector), you are required to annually grant eco vouchers to your employees.

But maybe you prefer to reward your employees with a different benefit? This in possible within JC 302!

Eco vouchers in JC 302

Full-time employees who have worked a full reference period will be entitled to eco vouchers worth EUR 250.

For full-time employees who have not worked a full reference period and part-time employees, the amount of eco vouchers will be reduced on the basis of the following formulas:

  • Incomplete reference period:  250 EUR x the number of employed full-time calendar months/12
  • Part-time employees or casual workers: 250 EUR x the number of days actually worked and days treated as  such/ 260[1]

Students are not entitled to eco vouchers.

More details and an extensive analysis are available in the sectoral information on our website (sector document JC 302 - eco vouchers).

Conversion into another benefit

This joint committee provides for the possibility of converting eco-vouchers into an equivalent benefit which can be determined separately for each employee.

Which benefits?

In principle, different alternatives for the eco vouchers are possible, including:

  • the introduction or improvement of an existing collective hospitalization insurance policy;
  • the introduction or improvement of an existing supplementary pension scheme at company level;
  • the introduction of luncheon vouchers or the increase of their facial value by e.g. EUR 1 per luncheon voucher.

    Comment: In our LegalSmart web shop you can find a sample document. Legal all-in customers can ask their legal officer to send them this sample document.

How?

Companies that want to convert eco vouchers will have to conclude an agreement with their employees before December. The converted benefit may not exceed EUR 250/year, including any additional costs of any kind (excluding the administrative costs).

If no conversion is made, you will have to grant (electronic) eco vouchers to your employees in December.

For guidance and advice on the conversion of eco vouchers, contact our Legal Partners, any time (mail to legalpartners@partena.be or call 02/549.30.20).
