As from the 2017-2018 school year, employers have 1 year instead of 1.5 years to submit their applications for reimbursement in the context of paid educational leave for their employees working in an establishment unit in the Brussels-Capital Region.
Until the 2016-2017 school year, any application for reimbursement for an employee working in the Brussels-Capital Region had to be submitted before 30 June of the calendar year following the calendar year in which the school year ended.
Example: an application for paid educational leave taken in the school year 2016-2017 had to be submitted to the Brussels Regional Public Service Economy and Employment before 30 June 2018.
From the 2017-2018 school year, this period will be shortened. Applications must be submitted before 31 December of the year in which the school year ends.
Example: an application for paid educational leave taken in the 2017-2018 school year must be submitted before 31 December 2018.
