Under certain conditions recruiting a long-term job-seeker may open the right to a premium of the Flemish government. It is not yet possible to apply for the premium, but employers can already register on-line.
In our Infoflash of 14 February we have discussed this new incentive at length.
The employer will have to apply electronically for the incentive and individually for each worker. The Flemish government is currently working on the on-line application which will be available by mid-April. This is still in time as the application term is three months and for recruitments in January/February the term only starts on 1 March.
In the meantime, the Employment and Social Economy Department has made available a web page with information on the application procedure and containing a web form allowing the employer to register. The employer will later be informed when the on-line application is available.
In any event, the employer is recommended to use the web form. As soon as technically possible, applications can be submitted.
Go to www.werk.be, ‘online diensten’ (on-line services), ‘Aanwervingsincentive voor langdurig werkzoekenden’ (AWI) (Recruitment incentive for long-term job-seekers).
