Extension of the scope of the flexi-jobs as from 1st July 2024

Context 

As from 1st July 2024, the scope of the flexi-job system will be extended to 2 sectors in the German-speaking Community: official education and members of staff in free education subsidised by the Community, and certain workers and employers in the sport and culture sector.

Extension  

The scope of the flexi-job system is extended:


1° to the administration of the German-speaking Community which is competent for education, with regard to staff members:

  • of the official education organised or subsidised by the German-speaking Community whose main activity corresponds to the description of one of the following NACE codes: 85.101, 85.102, 85.103, 85.105, 85.201, 85.202, 85.203, 85.205, 85.311, 85.312, 85.313, 85.321, 85.322, 85.323, 85.325, 85.410, 85.421, 85.591, 85.601 and 85.609, insofar as the latter code relates to central support services for an education network or a representative and coordinating body;
  • of the free education subsidised by the German-speaking Community, insofar as it concerns functions for which subsidised staff is generally employed, which is not referred to in the aforementioned Law of 5 December 1968 and where the main activity of the subsidised establishment corresponds to the description of one of the following NACE codes: 85.104, 85.106, 85.204, 85.206, 85.314, 85.324, 85.326, 85.410, 85.422, 85.591, 85.601 and 85.609, insofar as the latter concerns central support services for an education network or a representative and coordinating body.

2° to workers and employers in the sport and culture sector, provided that the employers are not covered by the aforementioned law of 5 December 1968 and that their main activity corresponds to the description of one of the NACE codes 93.1 or 90, and are located in the German-speaking region or depend on the German-speaking Community of Belgium.
