Premium for tourist accommodation Brussels-Capital Region

Under certain conditions, businesses that operate one or more tourist accommodation facilities in the Brussels-Capital Region may receive a premium from the Region. This premium is granted per establishment unit and must be applied for by 28 July 2021. 

Under which conditions employers can benefit from this premium?

  1. You are registered in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE) on 31 December 2020;
  2. You have at least one active establishment unit on the territory of the Brussels-Capital Region on that same date;
  3. You have an active, non-suspended registration number for the establishment units for which the aid is requested;
  4. You do not benefit from the VAT exemption scheme for small enterprises;
  5. You comply with your obligations regarding the publication of your annual accounts at the National Bank of Belgium;
  6. You have generated in 2019 a turnover higher than the amounts mentioned in the following table, calculated on the basis of the number of active establishment units in the Region having a starting date registered in the CBE prior to 1 January 2020[1]:

  1. As a business, you meet at least one of the financial health conditions described in the Decree;
  2. You do not have any social security or tax debts at the time of applying for the aid, unless they are the subject of a repayment plan or of a dispute with the competent appeal body;
  3. Your business was not in difficulties on 31 December 2019;
  4. You have so far received no more than 1,800,000 EUR in State aid, including the premium referred to in this Decree;
  5. You have a Belgian current account (in the name of the beneficiary).

To what premium may you be entitled?

The premium is granted per active establishment unit in Brussels[2] and varies according to the average number of full-time equivalents (FTE) in 2019[3].

Application

The application is made via IRISBOX.

The application must be submitted by 28 July 2021.

This application must be accompanied by a number of mandatory annexes. More information can be found on the website of the competent authority.

For companies that are not required to publish their social balance sheet or for which the deadline for publication has not yet expired, the average number of FTEs in 2019 is determined on the basis of a certificate issued by the payroll office.
