Paid educational leave: wage limit for the school year 2018-2019

For absences in the context of educational leave, the employee is entitled to the payment of his normal wage on the usual maturity dates.

However, this wage is limited to a certain amount (except if the employer agrees to not apply this amount).

This amount is set at € 2,928 for the school year 2018-2019 and has been indexed in comparison to the previous school years (€ 2,871 for the school year 2017-2018).

This amount is not yet published in the Belgian Official Gazette. Indeed, the National Labour Council has issued a divided opinion on this indexation. The decision of the Minister of Employment is awaited.
