In Flanders, the commuting fund (Pendelfonds) regularly launches calls for projects to subsidise more sustainable mobility. Until 1 June 2022, companies can submit a project to obtain a subsidy of up to 200,000 € per company.

What projects?

The 2022 call for projects focuses on improving the connection between public transportation and the company. Companies that implement solutions to reach the destination more easily (folding bikes, scooters, ...) will have a better chance of obtaining a subsidy. This is also the case for companies that collaborate with each other and for small and medium-sized companies (less than 250 employees).

The commuting fund also heavily subsidises various initiatives to increase bicycling.

What subsidies?

The subsidies granted can cover a maximum of half of the project costs, with a maximum of 200,000 € when a company submits a project alone. This maximum amount is higher when several companies participate together.

For which companies?

Private companies and local or provincial authorities (in collaboration with a private partner) that represent (together) at least 10 employees and have a place of business in Flanders can apply for subsidies.

How to apply?

Any company wishing to apply must first apply for a file number by 1 June. Next, the subsidy application will go through several steps. The file must be officially submitted by 1 September at the latest.

You can find more information, examples of subsidised projects and procedure details on the Pendelfonds website (only in Dutch).
