As an employer of joint committee 309 (for brokerage firms), you grant eco vouchers to your employees annually, in the course of the month of June.

But maybe you prefer to reward your employees with a different benefit? This in possible within JC 309!

Eco vouchers in JC 309

Full-time employees who have worked a full reference period will be entitled to eco vouchers worth EUR 200.

For part-time employees and employees with an incomplete reference period the amount will be prorated.

The exact way in which this pro rata calculation is carried out, as well as more details and an extensive analysis can be found in our sectoral documentation (sector document JC 309 – eco vouchers).

Conversion into another benefit

At enterprise level, you can opt for an equivalent alternative for the eco vouchers. Mind that the total employer cost of the converted benefits cannot exceed EUR 200 (all charges for the employer included).

Which benefits?

The social partners have decided what can be seen as an equivalent benefit, namely:

  • an increase of the existing meal voucher scheme by 1 EUR/day;

    Remark: In our web shop, Legal, you will find a model document for this. Legal all-in customers can ask their legal officer to send them this sample document.
  • the implementation or improvement of an existing group hospitalisation insurance policy;
  • the implementation or improvement of an existing supplementary pension scheme;
  • an increase in the gross monthly wages;
  • granting of a gross bonus.

When?

The conversion must be carried out not later than 30 April of the year concerned.

How?

The conversion takes place through a company collective agreement or an individual agreement with the employees.

Failing a company collective agreement or an individual agreement before 30 October, the sector provisions for eco vouchers will continue to apply. This implies that you will have to grant eco vouchers to your employees in June after all.

For guidance and advice on the conversion of eco vouchers, contact our Legal Partners, any time (mail to legalpartners@partena.be or call 02/549.30.20).
