As an employer of joint committee 124 (for the construction business), you grant eco vouchers to your employees annually, in the course of the month of May. But maybe you prefer to reward your employees with a different benefit? This in possible within JC 124!

ECO VOUCHERS IN JC 124

Full-time employees who have worked a full reference period will be entitled to eco vouchers worth EUR 100.

For part-time employees and manual workers who are not employed during the entire reference period, this amount is prorated.

The exact way in which this pro rata calculation should be carried out, as well as more details and an extensive analysis can be found in our sectoral information (sector document JC 124 – eco vouchers).

CONVERSION INTO ANOTHER BENEFIT

This joint committee provides for the possibility to convert eco vouchers at the company level into an equivalent benefit with an equal employer's cost.

Which benefits?

Various alternatives to the eco vouchers are possible in principle, such as:

  • the introduction or improvement of an existing collective hospitalisation insurance policy;
  • the introduction or improvement of an existing supplementary pension scheme at the company level;
  • the introduction of luncheon vouchers or the increase of their face value by e.g. EUR 1 per luncheon voucher. Comment: In our LegalSmart webshop, you can find a sample document. Legal all-in customers can ask their legal officer to send them this sample document.

When?

The conversion must take place before the end of January of the year in which the benefit is granted.

How?

The procedure differs depending on whether the company has a trade union delegation or not.

  • In companies with a trade union delegation, the conversion shall take place via a written agreement with them.
  • In companies without a trade union delegation, the conversion must be notified to the chairman of the JC.

If no conversion is made, you will have to grant (electronic) eco vouchers to your employees in the course of the month of May.

For guidance and advice on the conversion of eco vouchers, contact our Legal Partners, any time (mail to legalpartners@partena.be or call 02/549.30.20).
