Gifts and gift vouchers: the amounts for social security have been published

The amounts of gifts and gift vouchers exempted from social security contributions have been published in the Belgian Official Gazette of 6 July 2018.

We informed you of the increase of these amounts in our Infoflash of 1 June 2018.

The increase shall apply with retroactive effect from 1 January 2017.

If you have declared gifts and gift vouchers (to which this increase applies) that are no longer subject to social security contributions due to the retroactive increase of the maximum amounts, you can submit a modifying declaration to the National Social Security Office.

The part of the marriage or trade union premium exceeding the previous maximum amounts may also be deducted retroactively from the amounts indicated up to the new maximum amounts.
