The FGTB/ABVV, the CSC/ACV and the CGSLB/ACLVB are organizing, as a united front, an awareness day against government pension policy on Tuesday, October 2.
Some of your employees may decide to take time off work on that day to join in these actions.

Does an employer have to pay staff for the working time not worked due to attending these actions?

The employer must not pay any wage for "non-worked" hours to employees attending the actions.

Our advice

In order to avoid any later dispute, it is strongly advised that the employer informs all its employees in advance that no wage will in principle be paid to employees for "non-worked" hours on Tuesday 2 October because of their attendance at the actions.

Employees who do not wish to lose their pay entitlement may, by agreement with their employer, take a day’s holiday or a lieu day.
