As announced during the Consultative Committee of 20 August 2021, a relaxation will apply to teleworking as of 1 September 2021.

A Ministerial Decree of 25 August 2021 specifies the modalities which will be in force until 31 October 2021 inclusive.

In tangible terms, as of 1 September 2021, teleworking is no longer strongly recommended, barring exceptions.

Indeed, in the municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, this relaxation does not apply and teleworking is still strongly recommended.

The appropriate precautionary measures should still be taken to ensure compliance with the rules of social distancing and a maximum level of protection.

Apart from this relaxation, the Consultative Committee has also invited companies to structurally embed teleworking. The regulations governing structural teleworking will have to be complied with in such a case.
