Coronavirus Walloon Region: New allowance for the most affected sectors

The Walloon government grants you a new allowance if you belong to the sectors that have been most affected since the start of the health crisis.

Provided that you meet certain conditions, you can apply for the allowance on the Walloon platform indemnitecovid.wallonie.be from 25 August 2021 onwards.

Do you qualify for this allowance?

To be entitled to this allowance, you must meet the following conditions:  

  • You are a very small, small or medium-sized enterprise OR a natural person carrying out a professional activity as a main activity and you are liable to social security contributions;
  • As a result of the measures taken to combat the pandemic, you have lost at least 60% of your turnover in the period from Q2/2020 to Q1/2021 compared to the period from Q2/2019 to Q1/2020;
  • You are active in the sectors that have been closed the longest since March 2020 or the activity of which is linked to the ban to travel abroad (see list of NACE-Bel codes below).

What is the amount of the allowance?

The allowance is equal to 15% of your turnover during the period Q1/2019 up to and including Q4/2019.

However, ceilings are set on the basis of your loss of turnover and your workforce calculated in full-time equivalents (FTE).

The Walloon allowances received in the past, i.e. allowances 1 to 16, will be deducted from the amount calculated for the current mechanism.

What do you need to do?

You need to submit a request for allowance on the website www.indemnitécovid.wallonie.be (allowance 20) from 25 August 2021 up to and including 24 September 2021.
