Coronavirus Walloon Region: allowance for establishments closed after 1 May 2021

Since 1 May, some establishments have been able to reopen partially (hospitality sector), others not at all. The Walloon government is creating a new allowance for them.

Provided that you meet certain conditions, you can apply for this allowance on the platform www.indemnitécovid.wallonie.be from 27 july onwards.

Do you qualify for this allowance?

To be entitled to this allowance, you must meet the following conditions:  

  • You are a very small, small or medium-sized enterprise OR a natural person carrying out a professional activity as a main activity and you are liable to social security contributions;
  • You are active in the B2C sectors that were still closed on 1 May 2021;
  • You have lost at least 50% of your turnover in Q2/2021 compared with the same quarter of 2019 due to the measures taken to combat the pandemic;
  • You carry out a main activity falling under one of the following NACE codes:

What is the amount of the allowance?

The allowance is equal to a flat-rate amount of:

  • € 4,000 to € 12,000 for all NACE codes above except 56.302 (dance halls)
  • € 8,000 to € 24,000 for dance halls.

However, ceilings are set on the basis of your workforce calculated in full-time equivalents (FTE).

What do you need to do?

You must apply for this allowance at www.indemnitécovid.wallonie.be (allowance 22) from 28 july up to and including 27 august 2021.
