Coronavirus: cross-border work Belgium-Netherlands extended

Author: Peggy Criel (Legal Expert)

On 30 April 2020, Belgium and the Netherlands concluded an agreement on the situation of cross-border workers in the context of the COVID-19 health crisis. This agreement was in force until 31 May. The competent authorities of Belgium and the Netherlands have agreed to extend its application up to and including 30 June 2020.

As a reminder, in the agreement of 30 April 2020, arrangements were made on the following subjects:

  • home working days as a result of the measures taken by the Dutch or Belgian governments to combat the COVID-19 pandemic;
  • staying at home without working with continued payment of wages;
  • staying at home with entitlement to Belgian temporary unemployment benefits.

More information can be found in our Infoflash of 14 May 2020.
