As an employer, you can now consult the status of all your employees’ applications for career breaks (time credit and thematic leave) on-line.

The procedure for submitting a career break application to the ONEm/RVA as recently been updated to allow for consultation.

Submitting an application: instructions for use

As soon as the formalities for the employee's application have been fulfilled and the employer has accepted the career break request (time credit or thematic leave), an application must be submitted to the ONEm/RVA at the latest 2 months after the date on which the career break started.

This can be done on-line (ONEm/RVA’s preferential channel) or by means of a paper form.

On-line application

If you choose to submit the application on-line, you must notify your employee and ask him to activate his 'e-Box'.

Then you must first fill in the employer section and send it to the ONEm/RVA via the internet (https://www.socialsecurity.be).

After this first step, your employee will be informed via his 'e-Box' that he can fill in the employee section of the application and send it to the ONEm/RVA via the on-line service of the social security portal. If the employee does not have the possibility to fill in his section electronically, he can print out, fill in, sign and send the PDF document created by the application to the ONEm/RVA by registered letter.

Application 'paper form’

If the on-line application is not possible, the employee can submit his application by means of a paper form (https://www.rva.be).

The employee must fill in section 1 of the form and you, as the employer, must fill in section 2.

The employee must then send the completed and signed form to the ONEm/RVA by registered letter.

New: an overview screen of all applications

Via the application that allows you to on-line submit a career break, you can now also obtain a 'real-time' overview of all applications submitted for your employees and the status of these applications ('pending at the ONEm/RVA', 'awaiting information from the employee or employer', etc.).

This new functionality also allows you to consult a specific request.
